Jonny and Trace start their search for a wedding venue, and visit two this weekend. The Letchworth Hall Hotel, and Offley Place.
The Letchworth Hall Hotel is looking promising as it’s cheap (ish) and reasonably nearby. Offley Place has nice rooms, and good food. More news when we have it!

Trace had a nail treatment voucher from Richard and Natalie for Skin and Groom in Royston…it’s only taken her over three months to organise, but apparently that was to let her nails grow. So, she’s gone the full chav and had a diamond put on one of her nails!…

We picked the ring up on Saturday, so here it is! It’s not green, it’s just the reflection of the grass outside!…

We went into Cambridge today to sort out the ring, but it’s got to be resized (down to an ‘N’) so we won’t get it back for another 10 days 
For those who are interested, it’s an 18ct white gold ring, with a 0.26 carat, Round Brilliant cut single stone. The stone is of Colour grade I and has the clarity SI 2 and has been rated as a “good” finish by the International Gemological Institute.
White gold is normal, yellow gold that has had a “white” metal added to it (usually nickel, palladium or platinum) to improve it’s properties, notably strength and durability. White gold rings tend to have palladium added which does leave it quite a soft metal still, so the ring is coated in rhodium.

Trace keeps up with tradition and yesterday, Friday 29 February 2008, she asked Jonny to marry her. Jonny of course said yes!
Trace organised an evening at the Sheene Mill restaurant in Melbourn. Unusually, she’d taken care of everything - the booking, the taxi and the babysitters…all very organised?! After the starter and the main course the maitre d’ put a large box on the table and said “here’s your box madam”. Trace then said a few words and said to Jonny “will you marry me?” and gave him the labelled bottle. Jonny immediately said “yes”, and not “can I ask the audience?”

After a tense battle, victory was gone. Never has one man looked so dejected, so deflated, in defeat….

We’ve got a smoothie maker…whatever next, eh?! The liquid pouring out doesn’t look nice on the photo, but it did taste good. In this recipe there’s 300 mls of orange juice (half a pint), two handfuls of raspberries, a handful of strawberries, one kiwi and five ice cubes…bootiful! Jonny didn’t get a photo of the ingredients before they were mixed…next time…
Aimee was a bit poorly on Boxing Day so she wasn’t up for playing with toys, so Jonny boiled the turkey bones up for some soup…
